CSLabs Secures Phase I SBIR Award for Mixed-Reality Innovation
CSLabs’ mixed-reality (MR) system ingests and preprocesses point cloud data, applies AI-driven segmentation and anomaly detection, and delivers GPU-accelerated visualization. The system enables multiple engineers to collaborate remotely in a shared MR workspace, annotate and synchronize design changes, make corrections to CAD models, and perform real-time simulations to identify clash detections between new equipment and surrounding structures.
This capability reduces costly shipyard rework and accelerates modernization timelines by allowing teams to identify and resolve issues before installation.
CSLabs is working with large LiDAR and photogrammetry datasets, focusing on the challenge of handling massive ship-scale point clouds. Traditional 3D tools struggle to manage the size and complexity of these models and often lack the real-time collaboration features needed for modernization and integration planning.
